Whilst exploring Amsterdam, we discovered a peaceful protest being held against the occupation of Palestine by Israel in a public square.  Amongst a group of people chatting animately, I saw an older woman standing very quietly on her own.  It struck me as being incredibly lonely despite the potential for social interaction.
