reconsidering.
By having a combined programme of communal and public space, it meant that I was not utilising the opportunities provided by Stretford Public Hall to fully integrate my scheme into the wider context of Stretford. By simplifying my programme, it allowed me to resolve the issues with between the public and private boundary and open up my scheme.
Enabling light to penetrate into the site was another issue I encountered with my preliminary design. By simplifying my programme, it allowed me to reorientate two of my housing blocks and create a more open arrangement.
The reorientation of the two housing blocks enabled me to centralise my circulation and create an internal walkway. Creating a centralised circulation zone will greater enable the opportunities for social interactions between residents.

TYPOLOGY
Through the centralisation of the circulation, I felt that there was the opportunity to merge the various housing typologies in order to create more a more cohesive environment.
